Hi everyone:)
I really want to get a job teaching english preferably to kids.

I have been looking online but online seem to be getting jobs teaching adults.

I would really appreciate if any one could advise me as to how to get a job in Istanbul teaching children.

I am Irish, I have a degree and I have TEFL certification.

I hope to hear from some one soon....

Thanks in advance:) :

Do you have a teacher certification for K-12? If so, I've had many friends who were quite happy at the TED schools. From what I hear it is a great school, so getting your foot in the door can be tough... but not impossible.

Hmm, good question. I'm not sure how strict TED is on the certification issue. I can't say from experience because I worked at a university while I was in Turkey. I see a lot of postings for EFL teachers in primary schools on Dave's fairly regularly. Just keep an eye out. I think others on the board have recommended TeachAway (recruiter) and have had pretty good experiences. You can search for threads related to them. Good luck!

You could try sending your CV to some of the private schools, such as evre and İşik.

I have known people who have worked happily in both those places.

DILKO in Bakirkoy was always looking for children's teachers, I'd try them too (includes housing! Woot).
