If I was coming to KSA for the first time, what would I be well advised to bring with me? Other than contraband, obviously, what is cheaper or easier to find "back home" than in it is to find in KSA? I figure books in English are one thing... Any other suggestions? |

A good idea. Or a loaded 1 or 2 terabyte hdd. But can't one download virtually anything anywhere- KSA included? Are there download limits on the internet plans there or is it open slather as in many other countries (unlimited uploads and downloads for a flat fee)? |

There are affordable unlimited plans. IIRC most plans are based on speed and not a gigabit limit. And yes, torrents are available. It's easy to keep up with your programs.
Electronics are generally more expensive so if you are planning to get something get it before you come. |

Well after you arrive here, it is not what you bring that is important but what you keep that will take prominence in your life here.
Sanity. Bring lots and lots of that and try to keep it for as long as you can while you are here. You can also try to ration it out so that you don't run out of it during the long droughts in the summer when all you do outside is squint and melt from heat.

Rent a VPN. If this site gets blocked, or to read infidel sites like Rolling Stone magazine. Not to mention porn. |

It's easier when you're not there because you can do more research. Google is on a super safe search so lots of legitimate things are blocked. |
