This was the heading in an article in Arab News May 2, 2012.
There seems to be a comprehensive plan for Thumamah Park, near Riyadh, that includes a botanical garden that will feature local plants and a place to hold sound and light shows. This among many features that also includes the building of a natural history museum there also, which will educate the public about the environment and endangered local species of plants and animals (man being one...just joking).
The term they used "a place to have sound and light shows" sounds more like a definition of a word to me, which it would appear that they simply do not want to use or refuse to use.
"A Theatre"

Especially intriguing as "sound and light" shows normally include... gasp... music, as the "sound."

This will be an interesting one to follow in the very conservative Riyadh area.
Son et Lumiere displays are usually presented in an outdoor venue of historic significance, such as the Pyramids. What's the betting they will have the light(s) and even pyrotechnic effects, but the sound would probably be live narration, not music. Maybe even readings from the Qu'ran.
Or they could do what has happened in Philadelphia "Lights of Liberty" and let people use headsets as they walk around. |

The pyramids in Egypt. Isn't that where Pink Floyd had a "Dark Side of the Moon" sound and light show?
