Hi,
I'm just wondering what it's like working for WSI? I'm thinking of applying through their website, but would like to know what it's like working for them, especially on what people think of their teaching/class technique. It sounds completely different to what I'm used to. I'd like to know the good and the bad, and any experiences. I'm thinking of applying for Indonesia, so again, any opinions would be appreciated.
Thanks. |

You'd be better asking on the Indonesia board. As with all the franchises, people's experiences vary massively depending on which branch they work in. |

There's lots of info on WSI on the Indonesian board, but if you haven't got a degree in either English or Education I wouldn't waste your time applying as they won't be able to get you a work permit. |

I worked for WSI in Lat. Am. Liked the job (easy work, low stress, professional Ss, no lesson planning) but the admin sucked and the pay wasn't hot to trot. Anyways, the franchise owner (and their admin) ran the school into the ground and they went from maybe 15 schools down to 3 and the staff and teachers were not paid for months at a time, if at all. Luckily I bailed before that Titanic went down with all hands. |

IMHO Working at Wall Street would be like working - that is to say being held captive- at the zoo. They have these glass-walled cramped classrooms so that every visitor can see the performing ape.
I also hate the name with its connotation of financial success and savvy.
And I dislike their billboards and ads that show a pretty girl with her tongue hanging out and painted with either the Union Jack or the Stars and Stripes. Just what is that supposed to mean? Okay, I think I know, but still it's rather lascivious and exploitative, isn't it? |
