Hello and it's good to be back. It's been a long time.

Ok, I'm looking at apply for teaching work in Saudi and any feedback would be great.
What teaching possibilities would I have with the following quals;

Whitey NZ
MA (Text and Performance, Drama)
Cert of English (means I'm qualified to teach Secondary English)
5 years Secondary teaching as Drama HOD
Full NZ Secondary Teaching Registration
Celta
5 years ESOL fulltime teaching

Any feedback or suggestions would be fab. I'm a drama specialist and if possible I would like to continue teaching in that area.

Drama is a no-no in KSA. In that they share the attitudes of the late and much-lamented Oliver Cromwell, our Lord Protector.

In your position I would apply to KFUPM, IPA, or one of the Merchants of Death.

International schools would be cool.
I also want to teach drama workshopping at uni level to assist conversational english but I think that would be a pipeline project.

MERCHANTS OF DEATH - Companies that sell armaments. Many of them in the Middle East employ English teachers. Raytheon, Lockheed (now called Al Defaa i think) BAe Systems.

Drama is NOT taught in state schools, colleges or universities in Saudi Arabia.

Windsofchange, if you're interested in teaching drama/theatre arts in the Mid East in general and aren't picky about which country or employer, the American University of the Middle East in Kuwait has teaching opportunities in its theatre education department. For specifics, go to higheredjobs.com. And for the skinny on AUM, move over to the Kuwait forum. Otherwise, international schools might be your best bet.

Thanks all for advice.
It probably seems that teaching drama in the ME may be a bridge too far. If a society deems drama sinful perhaps I should look elsewhere
