Actually, when I emailed them they said this,
"I can help you to get a Z-working but if your arc is no longer than 6 months is a little difficult to get a visa recently.could you tell me how long dose your ARC left? And what 's your nationality ?

CTS Travel Agency"
Then they said that they could help me when I applied in November. That being said, rules just changed this MOnday. So I might just send them home anyways. Because "a little difficult" sounds like practically impossible to me. |
But why would a travel agency be an authority on this matter? |

| The embassy here doesn't deal with people, they deal with travel agents. And CTS is the official travel agent. |

I know this post is a little old, but I did this and wanted to update the thread for people who are thinking about doing this in the future.
I was on vacation in Nepal and didn't want to go home (USA) just to get a visa. I sent over my passport and some money to my family. The money was stolen but the passport made it safely. My family then gave my passport and the appropriate papers to a travel agent who applied for my visa at the Chinese Embassy in NY. Everything was approved and my family sent my passport back to me.
The only problem with this method is the major courier companies. At least in Nepal, they won't let you send a passport (they have to check what's inside). I had to get a third party courier to do it. He told me the responsibility was mine, but he would send it out. I paid him and he used TNT to send it.
All in all, a pretty painless process if you don't mind the wait. I was without a passport for about 2 and a half weeks. |

| How about just decline any position from a province or city that has the requirement of applying for a Z visa in one's home country. Then hopefully they will loosen the rules back to how they use to be. |

How about not come over until you have a z-visa like your supposed to?

Well, besides the people who may already be in country (nothing wrong with that), there are also people who are coming from a country that is not their home country. If I was working in, say, Vietnam, why would I want to fly back to the US just to apply for a visa to work in China? I am already right next to China, that is a waste (time/money/energy/passport space/etc). |

I'm leaving Korea in a week and don't want to fly to the USA.
What is the latest on the best way to get a Z visa?
1. send passport to visa agent in my home country(US)
or
2. go to Bangkok and get it through a visa agent in Bangkok |
