This job's at JIZAN polytechnic in the south.
PINZ Proposed package
Quote: |
All staff are likely to be paid in Saudi Riyals (SAR), which is the local currency and will be sponsored either by PINZ or by the polytechnic for their initial entry and residency visas.
There is currently a maximum gross base salary range of up to SAR300,000 per annum but this amount will depend on a variety of factors, specifically:
Level of qualifications and experience of the individual candidate.
Whether or not commission rates are payable to agents who assist with staff recruitment
|
How do I figure out my salary? Am I expected to know how much the agent gets? |

In answer to your question about figuring out your salary, you won't know what that amount will be until PINZ works the numbers and presents you with a preliminary job offer. Be aware it's not likely to even be close to 300,000 SAR annually. But then, you probably already sense that. |

I think this isn't at the original, and notorious, Jizan polytechnic. It's a brand new polytechnic, or at least that's the impression I got from the advert. Jazan Poly, or JEC-PT, is run by a profit-making branch of a Saudi government agency (SAGIA), called 'Cadre'.
If this new start-up polytechnic is anything like JEC-PT, then it's basically a big money-making scam, to line the pockets of a few, and nothing to do with education. I'm guessing, like JEC-PT, it'll pretty much be a daily nightmare to work there. The city of Jazan is also a VERY harsh environment to live in, being very poor, and very hot and humid almost year-round. There's also malaria and dengue fever there (at least one of my co-workers got dengue).
A salary note: The advertisers are being pretty sneaky in trying to lure teachers in by flashing that big 300,000 figure about. As the previous poster said, your salary won't be anywhere near this, unless of course you are applying for the principal's position. Even the vice principal's salary might not stretch to 25,000 riyals a month. Just as a comparison: When I was at JEC-PT, the vice-principal(s) were on around 20,000 riyals a month. With a BA English, CELTA, and 6 years experience, I was on less than 13,000. Accommodation was pretty grim.
I'd look elsewhere, if I were you... |

From what I know it's a collaboration between the Saudi govt. and the Saudi Electric company. It's in Baish, not Jazan city. The fact it's been advertised though a New Zealand company makes me want to think it's legit, but I don't know. |

It'll be "legit", in so far as they are advertising real jobs, with real salaries, but that's about it. You'll go there, put in your hours, collect your money, and suffer on a daily basis. I visited Sabya once. It wasn't very nice... |
