Does anyone know what the minimum requirements are for a basic credit card from a place like Walmart? I'm trying to figure out how to best go about getting on the EcoBici system and getting a data plan, both of which require Mexican credit cards if you want to avoid large deposits. |

ID, proof of address, (Mexican) credit bureau search (not absolutely necessary, as you may not have one - depends on bank), proof of regular income and FM2 (not 3).
Having said that, I got credit for a new car 8 years ago with: expired passport, no credit record and an FM3. But I got it through a student who was Executive Director of Credit in HSBC. The usual "having connections" route in Mexico! |
