Taking up from other thread, can I suggest here that this not practical fro most teachers. Accommodation in Bahrain is pricy. Living costs are generally higher. Many employers in KSA prefer to give housing rather than a housing allowance. Payment of education allowances is normally restricted to parents whose offspring are going to schools in KSA. Some employers, like KFUPM may make residence in-kingdom mandatory.
Try it if you wish but I hazard a guess that there only a handful of teachers doing it. I did know some who had residence in Bahrain and spent the weekends there. |

I did it for one year commuting from Bahrain and while the delays at the border could sometimes be tiresome and the day became long (5:40am leave Bahrain early to avoid traffic jams 7am start, arrive back around 4:40 after finishing work at 3:30) sometimes, mainly on Wednesday, the delay at the border was a drag could be an hour my max was two hours one day usual on Wednesday 30/40mins).
If you are getting paid a lot and have an accommodation allowance and transport allowance it can be done. |
