My contract will end next month and I am looking for my next teaching position.
I have taught 8 years in China, 2 years Thailand, 3 years south Korea, 9 months Vietnam. I have a Bachelor's degree with a Tefl certificate. I am very close to Shanghai. I am looking for a higher paying position because of all of my teaching experience. I was wondering if anyone knew of a current opening teaching adults or university students or both. I am an older teacher with a lot of experience. Any help would be appreciated. |

The forum is not a place to look for a job, advertise for jobs, etc. Contact employers and do some leg/hand/computer-work to find suitable employment. It would have been better to look for a job well in advance of a month prior to credential expiration though, by the way. I wish it were so easy as to just beg or ask for a job here and get it in response.
Not that way... |

I can't help you with info about openings. You know what I know here on Dave's and you might subscribe to SeriousTeachers.com. They would send you daily info on whatever countries you choose.
I only write to suggest that with all your Far Eastern experience, if not to say, adventures, you night consider going off to a whole different part of the world. Only you know what sort of place would suit your taste and financial requirements. Turkey, Chile, Africa?
The great thing about our line of work is that the world is your erster (or as some pronounce it: oyster)
Good luck to you, friend.
P.S. Say, Boohooonceagain, (the other poster) you wouldn't be Danasoverseasmail plaguing us once again with your inane whining, would you? Dave's ESL Cafe is no place to look for a job, or advertise for a job!? Oh, it's just for bitching and moaning then, I suppose. (I apologize, if you are not Dana) |

Hippo and Lobster have nailed it IMO.
And there's lockedinadrawer as a possibility also.
On the OP I like seriousteachers.com. Bit of a hassle to get all your stuff up there, but the alert and search facilities make applying a breeze. Free too! |

Wow! I agree with absolutely everything you've said, Non Sequitur (and Lobster). Yes, what I like about SeriousTeachers is the job offers just appear in your email everyday and you can take them or leave them - no hunting necessary.
P.S. Boohooonceagain should be lockedinadrawer! |
