I would like to know the opinion of RECENT AND CURRENT teachers in the Gulf concerning wages. The wages have at best stagnated and at worst slipped down below the wages I knew ten years ago in Saudi Arabia. The Saudis mostly hired directly at that time. Now the hiring is done through contractors! Is life so bad in the West that we take these low paying contracting jobs? I hope this thread is not hijacked by the same four retired pensioners who haven't seen the gulf in nine or fifteen years.
