Hello, are flights possible to negotiate at any of the schools in Vietnam? What is the expected monthly salaray for someone with CELTA and 5 years exp? Is Vietnam overrun with backpackers offering their services for nothing???
Curious
Thanks |

Barmadu,
as far as I know The Flight is not paid for. What you can negotiate IS what you can negotiate, but after you have paid for your ticket over here I imagine you will have a hard time "negotiating" a month's salary out of them. Maybe you could negotiate a flight from Siem Reap?
Monthly salary? 1500 usd.
Overrun with backpackers? Well as long as they have a degree, a couple of linen shirts a tie and tie clip and are willing to do the dance.
ILA has just posted a rathe informative job ad in the international jobs section here, check it out. i thnk they are a good choice.
vietnam is lovely.
good luck,

Thanks for the low down. I've been talking to Tyndale education, and they were offering something like 750 for 25 contact hours, and a total of 40 with out of class time included. Sounds like a lot for a little really. Where is 1500 possible???
Thanks again for any tips. |

I seem to recall that Tyndale was out in Hai phong, no?
ILA pays according to your experience. They are in Saigon and Vung Tau.
Something Star in Hanoi also has a good reputation with a foreign management.
750 is too low for your experience.
Vietnam is really growing and the people are optimistic and orienting themselves towards the future. eager to learn.
i don't think i could live in saigon. maybe Hanoi. i love living in dalat.
have never been to vung tau but that is where the saigonese go for beach weekends. Haiphong? i don't think so, though you are close to halong bay...
not like cambodia though. most of the madness is confined to the terrible traffic.
good luck |

Flights and accommodation are not normally provided in Veitnam.
I was offered $10 U.S. PER hour but that was with No Degree, No Experience and No Qualifications.
I heard that some teachers were receiving $17 U.S. PER hour with qualifcations etc. You can live really cheaply in H.C.M.C. |
