Going to the Chinese Embassy soon with all my paperwork. How much does a Z visa cost?

What documents should I bring?

Thanks

If you're a US Citizen it's about 150 USD. Some countries you will have to get a physical (Mexico is the only one I'm sure of).

That's disgustingly too high.

If you want a more accurate answer you might want to tell us what is your nationality and where are you applying for the visa?

Just for the record, Americans are charged two or three times more Laughing .

His reply to the approximate fee for US folk says it all. I'm pretty sure the price is standard everywhere, subject to fluctuations in the rate of exchange with the coin of the realm, of course.

Why?

This is a bad sign - you've not even come to China and already complaining. I see bad things in the future.

The price for US folk is higher, the price is not standard everywhere.

"Fees:$130 for American, and $30 for Citizens of other countries."

The price for US citizens is a "reciprocal" fee: that is, it's the same price a Chinese person must pay for a visa to the US. China isn't the only country with a higher fee for US citizens.

Yes, Brazil does it also.

I'm saying that the price for US citizens is (I believe) about the same price in all countries. When I got my Z visa in Mexico City in January of this year, it was about 148 USD (2000 pesos). At the current exchange rate, it is about 141 USD (but still 2000 pesos). When I got my visa in Hong Kong in 2009 it was 135 USD.
