I have an English Degree and experience in a U.S. public school, but am new to TEFL. Also, I am a student of Balinese music seeking to spend more time in Bali. Is there a good job market for TEFL in Bali? What kind of certification is necessary? I'm also curious about Solo. Hope this isn't in the faq's already... |

Your qualifications are fine, but there is lots of competition in Bali because it's a popular place. Plenty of Australian teflers have easy access to it, but your American accent would be a real advantage. Another advantage would be to just go there. They get dozens of emails a week, but naturally choose someone on the ground. You would make $1,000 a month more or less. Is that acceptable to you? |

Thanks for responding! $1,000 a month would certainly be adequate. That's something to consider, but probably wouldn't go there prior to securing employment. I'm also considering Solo and Bandung, which are places I'd love to return to. |
