|

I am currently researching certificate programs in Buenos Aires and one of the ones I am the most interested in, BridgeTEFL, qualifies you with something called an IDELT (International Diploma in English Language Teaching), which is not a certificate I've heard of before... TESOL and CELTA and many others ring a bell, but not IDELT. Any opinions on how legitimate/widely accepted this IDELT thing is? Thanks for your time. |

The IDELT provides 140 contact hours between the trainee, the course trainer(s), peers, and EFL/ESL students. Course components include the following: essential subject knowledge given in input sessions (interactive lecture classes), teaching practice with real language learners, classroom observation of experienced teachers, and several written assignments. |
From their website.
This would be considered an acceptable CELTA equivalent. If you decide to go with it, you may need to highlight on your CV/resume that your course met the basic standard of 120+ hours on site and included the hands-on teaching practice with real students, to make it easy for potential employers who have never heard of the course, but it should be an OK choice. |
