I have tried applying for this university several times, first I was refused the position as I did not have enough experience and when I did get some experience I was told that they have changed their qualification requirements from BAs to MAs even though the job advert still states BAs are accepted.
I have tried contacting the men's side and they have told me that BAs in Education are accepted but the womens side disagree.
Can anyone tell what the actual qualification requirements are?
I have tried contacting the dean and vice dean but nothing so far.
Would love to hear from current ELI employees particularly if you are on the women's side.
Thanks in advance |

What's your nationality?
What's your BA in? Education?
How many years of TEFL experience do you have?
Where did you gain your TEFL experience?
Do you have a CELTA or a generic TEFL cert that entailed at least 120 hours of face-to-face instruction and 6 hours of teaching practice with real students?
Are you presently in KSA?
By the way, I've heard that the ELI is seeking accreditation through the CEA. Big changes for the better, I hope. That may be why they're pushing for teachers with MAs. |

Ordinarily, your quals would be sufficient. However, if the women's section is telling you an MA is required, then that's what you'll need to have. I suspect there may be quotas on how many BAs vs MAs they employ, which may be why there's a discrepancy between what the two sections are telling you. Anyway, since you're female, you need to concern yourself with the requirements for the women's section. |
