				Hey, everybody!

I have my second interview with MIL this week and wondered if anyone knew what I might expect from this? Is there a third round of interviews or do they hire after the 2nd round?

Also, does MIL require a pre-employment physical or is that handled once the teacher in Japan, like Interac? |

Okay, second interview is done. To answer my own questions and for future reference:

1. There is no pre-employment health check.

2. The second interview is comprised of questions concerning past

experience: Relate a specific success story.

Relate a time when you worked with a supervisor or manager who was difficult.

Relate a time when you worked with a supervisor or manager who was very easy to work with.

And hypothetical teaching scenarios. For instance, you have 4 women in your class who comprehend at an Elementary level. What are six questions you could ask to get them to talk abou their family?

I won't find out if I'm hired until the middle of next month. If I manage to land a third interview, then I am basically in. |

				| I was asked those questions for my konbini job. Since pretty much every interview in the US asks them, you'd think they'd pick some more challenging ones. |

What website did you use to apply for MIL? My search lead me to www.miljapan.com but I get a malware warning.

Good luck. |

				| MIL is hiring right now. Go to Ohayosensei.com for the job posting. It will include the link and e-mail address for applications. |

I sent them an e-mail and they sent me back an application to fill out and instructions on what other documents they wanted. I sent everything back to them about two days ago. |

				| I've already completed the first two interview sessions. I'm waiting on confirmation of either a third interview or of MIL's complete lack of interest in hiring me. I thought I would have had one or the other by now, not that I am in a huge rush to be rejected... |

Are you serious, 3 interviews? For an eikaiwa-typ job? You've gotta be kidding. The companies have turned the hiring process into a circus - multiple interviews, grammar tests, essays, demo lessons. Just for an eikaiwa job? I

was around when it was still pretty much an applicant's market - e.g.:

Okay, you're hired! Can you start this afternoon? Bring your own materials...make it fun. |

				| MIL is a special case. They have almost no poor reviews and from the people I've managed to contact, it's a sweet place to work. |
