Hi,

Also does anyone have any up to date information on Istek, Istanbul? I have also been invited for an interview with them and hoped there might be some people with current or recent experience and knowledge on the school, management, atmosphere, salary etc..

thanks so much

Istek really take care of their teachers when itcomes to residency and work visas. They pay for everything- The translation, notary, the photos, the residence permit, the work permit. they pick you up and drop you off with the service drivers. When you need to do anything they take care of you.
The salary is capped at 1.6 so if you are earning $2500 its paid in Turkish Lira and in reality its 4000tl. They offer fully furnished lojmans wşth secutiry and a bit of a garden. You also do not pay for gas , internet or cable tv. You pay a flat monthly fee for maintenance and your electricity and water. It comes to around 15-20tl per month if you are single and shower every day. The school provides a service bus for you. If you dont choose to stay at the lojman they offer a housing allowance of 500tl. I dont know about the service bus for people living too far way. They do try to provide some sort of a sevrice for the teachers.
About the job I cannot say as every campus is different and every manager is different. Generally there are very long term teachers there but some who are changing every year.
