Greetings -

I have six years of experience as an English language instructor and now have an opportunity to apply for a position as supervisor of a few language instructors in Al Khobar. A contractor contacted me and I spoke with her today. As a teacher, I was earning somewhere around 12,000 riyals per month tax free, plus a fully subsidized big comfortable 3 bedroom flat, 60 days paid summer vacation, and paid religious holidays during the academic year. I was satisfied with that at the time, though I knew it wasn't a top package.

I want to fill out the form for this new opportunity today, and have to specify my expected salary in dirhams. Would anybody care to share their perspective on what a reasonable expected salary would be?

I have an M.A. in English / TESL from an OK U.S. university, and a prior M.A. in a different subdiscipline of English, also from an OK U.S. university; and, I'm American, and considered a native speaker.

I put down 16,000 AED for base salary.

Job is in Khobar, but the contractor is UAE based.
