Hi,
I've been offered a contract at this school in Shanghai - just wondering if anyone has any experience or feedback. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Christy.
I haven't worked for them, but I did my CELTA through them last year, and got to meet a few of the people there.
So, from what I gather from them, yes, it's good!!! University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) is VERY strongly influential there, and from what I gather, you'll be treated VERY well with them! Very professional, and seems to be quite high standards.
The one negative that I could think of (that I know of), it's a little far out from the city centre... but certainly accessible by metro.
Good luck!

Hi SH,
Thanks SOOOOOOOOO much for your reply!I've been kind of sitting on pins and needles waiting to hear something. I haven't found any information at all through my searches on the internet and various message boards. I know that's not always a bad thing, just makes me nervous. I'm so thankful for your reply and thumbs up!
Yes, the commute is going to be a hassle but I do it with my uni in Nanjing now so am a bit used to it. Did you take your celta on the "old" campus or the "new" one?
Again, thanks tons and best of luck to you!

I went to that campus when I worked for IELTS. It is far from the city centre, but there is a metro to go there.
I also think I had a friend that worked there. I don't remember major complaints.
Most of the students you have will be aiming to go abroad at some point. They are not going to be high scorers on the gaokao, and their families are likely to have more money than most. |

In other words lazy little sh.ts that failed the gaokao so they go study abroad. The worst type of student! But if the pay and conditions are good, don't worry about that, just don't expect to see any improvement in your students. |
