Can anyone share information regarding this university? Firsthand or things heard? I scanned the forums and haven't found anything specifically. However I have read some nice things about Zhaoqing. |

Well.... no news is good news.... right?
It seems like a convenient enough place, and from my research the air quality is a bit better than Guangzhou. |

I have been teaching in Zhaoqing for 4 years but don't know about the uni. However I did know a female teacher there and she enjoyed it. She left a year ago. I don't doubt it is a good place to work. The city is quiet , clean, frinedly and inexpensive so you can't really go wrong by trying it. Sorry I can't give u more info. |

I don't know about the University but I know the city is beautiful.
However I've seen the main gate of the university so I can tell you it's not too far from downtown. |

Remember you'll probably have to get the Z visa in your home country unless you are already working on the proper visa, then you can renew without returning home. |

Everyday I go to Macdonald's for my daily meal of a bottomless cup of coffee that expires at 11 and then off to teach pre-schoolers. Macdonalds is the same as my school everyday new people working there, . Everyone in a uniform. My school has had a complete turnover of staff since I started here 10 months ago maybe 50 teachers have gone thru the doors. The walls are full of foreign teachers who worked there. No one knows their names or what happened to them. Young girls mostly who work fora pittance and leave after getting tired at yelling at kids everyday. They leave Macdonalds because they are paid 9 rmb an hour which doesn't really buy you anything to eat there. You have to work two hours to get a big mac which should be re-named because it is about half the size it was a year ago. It is an interesting world. |

Where do I begin? Absolutely terrible in every way. The FAO is a nightmare to deal with in every way. Last minute visa processing upon arrival, no responses to emails, filthy, dirty apartment, complete lack of logic in every respect, missed pay, the list is long, my friend. This university is for weak-minded, and subservient submissive people, not winners, great teachers, or leaders. |
