|
|
The 5th of the month and still teachers have not been paid!! This is the third time this year!! As always, there is 1) no warning that this is going to happen (there must be a point when they realise/know they can't pay)
2) definitely no apology 3) all phone calls and emails remain unanswered - basically the company shuts down!!
Also, many new arrivals are having problems with their contracts! Their current ploy is tell people at home to sign a 'provisional' contract in their home country to enable the visa process to go through - then when they arrive in Kingdom there is another contract!! - obviously NOT as good!!
Then, they just refuse some entitlements - say "that is a misprint in your contract". THIS REALLY IS A COMPANY TO AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! - but, probably all other contracting companies are too!! |

It just begs the question of why people work there.
The discussions here (the entire section) were very helpful in convincing me there would be no point in going to Saudi. For those who go and then gripe the whole time, well, good luck. |

Companies like this always get teachers. Same with contractors. Tghere are some desperate people out there. I know - I was one of them ! (Not for SRACO but for a now defunct contractror called Kazelly in Jeddah.) |

These companies cause good people to stress too much. Why.....because they have cash flow issues.....and they are inneficient compared to western standards.....personally I would NEVER have come to KSA with a contractor.....many Pommies here with contractor.....it says a lot about British society imo. Point is good paying jobs are getting hard to find.....the world is changing! |

The reality is that the EFL business in Saudi Arabia is the pedagogical equivalent of the French Foreign Legion. There will always be those desperate enough to take jobs - even at lousy rates of pay and with awful living and working conditions.
And of course there is a HUGE reservoir of pious bearded ones who would do ANYTHING to get to the Homeland Of The One True Faith. |
