Hello,
I was recently hired to work for ALS in Chiba prefecture. I am being placed in Yachiyomidorigaoka and I would like some information about it. I am having a very difficult time finding information on the web Confused . I would like to know about weather, night life, population, and closeness to Tokyo and outdoor activities (I love the beach!). Hopefully someone lives here. Any clues regarding this long-named city would be highly appreciated Laughing .

Thanks a lot,
Cassandra

Yachiodai's (if that's what your looking for: it's often called Yachio) population is about 3-400,000.

Midorigaoak is probably the ward...

I could be wrong MLS should clear that up for you..

If we're talking about the same place, it's located in the middle north east of the prefecture.

Night life? No too much but where's there's a universiy there's often lots of Izakayas etc. There's got to be one around. I rember a lot of them near keisei Yachiodai station..

It's about and hour from Tokyo and about 40 mins to the airport.

Chiba City, the prefectural capital, isn't too far off.
Transportation access is through the keisie, JR (?), and the extension of the Tozai Line (Toyo Katsutadai ?)

Not a bad place to start out. It's close enough to Tokyo but also would have good amenites and a fairly tranquil environment..
