I went to the consulate to get my visa. They took the necessary paperwork and gave me my visa.
The last time I got a Z visa, I believe I got the original work permit back. As a matter of fact, I still have the previous work permit. I do not recall if I needed them while inside China.
All I know is that the consulate gave me my passport with my new visa inside, but nothing more. Sure it's enough to get into the country, but what about when I get there? |

No. Work permit is what you hand in along with the invitation letter to the consulate.
You get the FEC (the green booklet) while in China.

Comments like these are the reason why I generally stay away from this forum unless I have a question.

| I see. I'm pretty sure, then, that if you've got the Z visa, you're okay. I've never needed anything else to get here or to complete the hiring process (RP, FEC, etc.). By the way, the FEC is blue. |

Looks like I'll be fine then. |

When you hand your passport over to apply for a residence permit, if asked for anything else you simply say there is nothing else. Your only job is to get the visa and show up for work. |

It IS kind of annoying to get a notification of a topic reply for nonsense. Particularly irking is when it's only a smiley. |
