This will be my first experience overseas. I have been considering Tiawan and China. Does anyone know of any schools in China that will pay airfare? (would be willing to pay it back once working).

Thanks for the reply, what I meant was :is there any schools that will provide a one way ticket and let me pay the cost back once I arrive...I have a bit of cash saved but paying airfare would negate my startup funds. I know this sounds like a weird request, and isn't a likely option i'm just looking for a way to get there....i'm serious about teaching but cash strapped at the moment

just shop around for a ticket.
someone recommended www.flychina.com, and they do have some cheap tickets.

You start-up capital doesn't have to be a lot, since your accomodation & everything else is provided. Things are super cheap.

And if you did get in a jam, as I've seen happen to a few people, many schools will give you an advance on your pay.

I've been checking flight costs and 1way costs from here are insane considering the pay over there (at least in the next few months).

Chinese regulations require schools to reimburse, not advance.

With the number of no shows, it would be foolish for a school to advance.

One school advances but upon arrival you go to work for a higher paying school. Would you advance to you?

A few schools got burnt in the past, reimbursing airfare upon the job applicant's arrival... Forget about this option!
You will more likely be advanced some startup capital once you have worked a week or two.
