Hi You guys,
SOrry its me again.
I just received an email telling me to get my eticket though they are supposed to send it to me. Is this how it works? Will they reimburse the amount? Anyone working there? How was yours? Were you sent an eticket or did you buy your eticket??
Do they give the housing allowance upon arrival? Should I take out a loan?
Any help would be great. THANKS! |

At another reputable uni with direct hire (KFUPM) I bought my ticket and was reimbursed within a week or so, Hosuing Allowance should be paid shortly after arrfival. Ine of the nice things about KFUPM is that reasonable hosuing is provided on campus. At KAAU you have to find your own. |

If your visa was processed through the SACM, then they'll be doing your travel as well, at no cost to you. Ask your SACM contact person to send you the travel form to complete in order to get your flight plans in motion.
As for your housing allowance, ask your KAU contact person about when you should expect it. |

Hi nomad soul
No I applied to the university directly through their website and got hired.
Now I am just wondering if Ill get a reimburstment and if its the same with the others.
thank you
Edit: I asked them several times they dont answer directly. They keep on attaching the restrictions disclaimer on annual housing. In it, it says that they will. However in an email she said that it would take few weeks for them to give the money. So I started wondering if I would ever get it. |

Huh? I'm confused. The university hires you and provides you with a visa letter. You then complete all the medical and documentation requirements for an employment visa and submit your passport and all paperwork to the SACM person who handles new employee processing for US citizens heading to Saudi government unis (including KAU). She/he returns your passport with visa in it. You then submit the SACM's travel form to request a flight to KSA. (You get to choose which departure date works best for you.) Their travel agent sets it up and subsequently, you're emailed your eticket and you're on your way.
This wasn't the process you went through?
Be aware this is the time of year when lots of newly-hired teachers are arriving. That means extra processing for the universities, so I'd guess your housing allowance may be later than usual, but you'll get it. But again, only the university can answer that question for you and it sounds like they have. |

I am not American.
I did everything you said except for the SACM company. Instead of that, there is a bureau for the visa process..probably the same thing with little differences. I got the visa and told the university that I did. They told me to get my ticket and give them my arrival details.
Thank you for your reply. You have helped me plan the next few days. I am assuming that SACM buys the tickets for you and then they receive the money from the university later.
So I need to get my ticket and arrange some money for housing. I wonder how many would take out a loan for something like this.
take care see you around |

Thanks for the clarification. Good luck with your flight and accommodation arrangements. |
