I've just accepted an offer at Baotou Teacher's college.
Mulled it over for a long time, talked to two of the FTs there who had a lot of positive feedback about the school. I asked them a lot of questions, read up a lot (mostly on the internet) about the city, and it seems to cut like this. (I'm headed there next week after wrapping things up here)

Pros:
Really cheap cost of living
Friendly people
Greener than Hohhot

Cons:
More dangerous than where I am now (Jiaxing, Zhejiang)
While better than Hohhot, still rather polluted and industrial
Incredibly cold in winter

I've taken the good with bad and decided to go.
Could anybody who has been here (even just passing through) give me some feedback about this city? Or if you've possibly taught at the school I'm about to attend, additional info would be wonderful

Ah, you see I my question wasn't should/shouldn't I go, but more "Have you been there? if yes, share your experiences with me"
