The Teachers Council website has some useful tips and links for jobs in primary and secondary education.
Within private English language schools and other private tertiary colleges, you are more likely to find a job, I think, by approaching the school directly - e.g. by sending your CV. You can find details of all of these under 'PTEs' (private tertiary establishments) on the NZQA website. You might also like to have a look at the website of TESOLANZ , the national association of English language teachers and English New Zealand, which is a group of well-established private English language schools. I've put some other information about teaching in NZ in other postings.
Generally speaking, demand for teachers is fairly flat at the moment, but best of luck anyway.
