I received an offer from the Saudi British Centre but I had to go through the application and be processed through ERA (European Recruitment Agency) which I couldn't find info about through searching here.
I went through this automated interview and then was given an offer by SBC with decent salary but I have been given 10 days to decide and it is a bit confusing to me since there are 2 recruiters involved ERA and SBC who has me work at a university ....that's 3. ERA says they are just contacting SBC and the 1 letter I received besides the offer is to explain the reason for the use of the European Recruitment Agency but not answer my questions.
Maybe this is normal but I would think there would be one sponsor who places you somewhere and you work for that school and get paid by the agency like they have in Oman. Was there a way I could have by-passed ERA and applied directly to SBC? ERA advertised on serious teachers.
I have seen the negative threads regarding Saudi British Centre and I have sent them some standard questions which will help me in making a more informed decision but I don't get any response. The offer includes provided housing or money in lieu of.
{When you don't have answers to questions, would you just hop on the airplane and wing it? I suppose some would but it all depends on the how much anyone is willing to risk here. That is why direct hire is the best but that too can leave you misinformed. The question is just how much does one need to really know and you can never be sure if what you are told is really what is. Especially when you have companies with questionable reputations but there are so many bad threads on quite a few places in KSA (just thinking within my writing)}
no doubt the reply question ....why bother with them? Just to know more about SBC now and ERA and other experiences. They throw out an offer and since we don't always get the real scoop .....then I ask the forum what's up? Our advantage in the game.
The town Arar sounds like a forgotten place.
Anyone I ever work there at this Northern Border University. Sounds strange ... about US dropzone and a place of isolation.
I know it is Ramadan but I need answers. Anyone ever get a teaching post through ERA and is now working for the Saudi British Centre at an assigned university? or dealing with ERA?
and anything very recent on the Saudi British Centre?
Thanx |

Unless they have changed, Am I am sure that haven't, DONT DO IT!!
The messed up so many lives at PNU last year. The promised to many thing and in the end most of the women ended up with nothing but heart ache.
They gave people fake contracts ---Salary said one thing but they were not authorized to pay that amount, length of time of contract, and in some cases the client didn't even know about the person having a job until they showed up. They just made up stuff ....
People were told they have 25% of salary for housing when in fact they didnt. They HAD to live on the compound and it was SHARED housing with up to 3 women and sometimes kids....
business visas - but promised iqamas
Lied about being able to bring family--- Many people were told they could bring their husbands and kid and in the end they couldnt.
I honestly dont know how he is in business |
