Consider this a cross-post from the Argentina forum
Does anyone know what the job market is like for a NY state certified English teacher in Santiago? I have certification in English Language Arts for grades 7-12 (7 basico-4 medio). I've been teaching English in Valdivia on a volunteer basis since June and in December I'd like to stay down here for as long as I can.
I plan on getting CELTA certification as soon as possible. I believe that Universidad Chileno-Britanico offers this? Having been in a private school for quite some time now, I'd like to avoid repeating the experience. I've sent out applications to a few private schools in Santiago but I'm not feeling all that optimistic about those applications....
And finally I'd like to avoid working at language institutes if possible but I also won't totally count that idea out. |
