|
|
I'm applying for a residency visa for a different country, and the government wants an Apostilled criminal background check from every country in which I've lived during the past three years. This includes China.
Problem is, everything I can find online suggests that I need to go in person to the police department in the cities where I lived.
That's just impossible. Has anyone done this? Or heard of any services that would do this, whose CBC would be accepted for a visa application?
Thanks! |

I don't live in China and I can't go there now. I also don't know anyone in the areas where I lived who could or would do it for me. |

Hey there, I'm in the same boat. I'm applying for permanent residence in Canada, and I can't get a Chinese background check. Canadian immigration says it's possible to have a friend in China to go to the local police station of the city where you lived and request the document on your behalf. A friend of mine tried this in Nanjing for me, but the police told her it was impossible.
It didn't work for me, but you could always try it. Such bureaucratic inconsistency exists in China that you might have luck where I didn't. |
