I would like to teach in Thailand for a few years. However I want to mainly do so in Poland in the long term. If I leave Poland for Thailand will I have to "start over" when I return? When would it be best to go to Thailand keeping in mind that Poland is my long term interest? Thanks |
You won't be starting over, but your exp. teaching in Thailand may not count in Poland.
I taught in Poland for a year and then taught in Thailand for 1.5 years before returning to Poland. Thailand was a fun experience, mostly for the vacation time and traveling. The teaching wasn't that great - lots of completely uninterested students and discipline problems.
Try to work for a reputable international chain school in Thailand and hopefully your exp. will count for more in PL.
Honestly tho, I did this and when I came back to Poland, my school told me my experience in Thailand didn't count - i.e. they wouldn't give me a raise based on my exp. there. They said that their school wasn't affiliated with the school in Thailand even though the two schools had the same name. |
