As part of my schools professional development programme I have been offered a place on a training day run by Cambridge English/ Pearson. How useful are these days? My school has said they will pay the fee for attending the event, so there are no issues there. |

I've attended one or two of these over the years. It's all examination of book-based approaches and methods, obviously Dull but relatively undemanding. I wouldn't personally call it 'professional development.' |

It can be really good depending on the trainer/speaker you get, I think. |

If you hit it lucky you MIGHT get one idea that you had not heard of before.
It depends what value you put on your time ! |

My school sent me to one. It was for elementary school teachers but all of us were high school teachers. It was good otherwise. |
