|
|
Hello everyone,
I currently have two offers for KSU with the same salary: ICEAT and Al-Hussan. The only difference is that Al-Hussan is offering to pay my family's travel expenses while ICEAT is not (although Al-Hussan does not state they will do so in the contract. I just have promises over email).
Does anyone know enough about both companies to help me make an informed decision on who I should be working with? I am thinking in terms of things like: working conditions, micro-management concerns, quality of accommodations, employee treatment, etc.
Thanks. |

Scroll down the forum; both companies have been discussed within the past 7-14 days. |

I've read those posts, but I was just wondering if one is known to be better than the other by general consensus. |

You're hoping to hear from someone who's worked for both companies, which is unlikely. But you can figure out the work environment for each company separately. Either way, your focus should probably be on the offer that's the most family friendly in terms of benefits (as addressed in the contract). |

Okay fair point. But related to what you said: I know it would have been better if family reimbursement was put into the contract, but it wasn't and I don't think it's a good idea to demand for it to be put in and a new contract to be drawn up. That being said, should I reasonably expect my family benefits provided if they only guarantee it by word of mouth? |

It's part of your benefits package and should be indicated per your employment contract. But let's put it this way: If your salary weren't written into the contract, would that be acceptable to you? If these employers are not willing to write in family benefits, then be prepared to pay those costs on your own. And that includes sponsoring your family as well.

Of course, I agree, but they didn't write it. So based on what is known about them or Saudi in general: Is it likely they will do it? They've assured me time and time again they will. I understand it should be in the contract, but the reality is that it isn't. Does that mean it's most likely a lie or just poor organizing on their part? |

Who knows. It's ultimately your decision to take what's offered (as is) or move on. |

I don't think there is much difference between them in all honesty. A lot depends on what is happening on the ground as well. What I mean is the actual working conditions can vary a lot depending on your actual location, local management, dean, and colleagues.
Maybe some teachers from KSU can chip in with the latest gossip. |

It would be unusual to reimburse for your family expenses. If anything those promises may indicate their desperation. In terms of working conditions there is no difference. |

I have heard Al-Hussan fired many employees along with Ed Ex in the whole controversy last year. I read the thread about it earlier and it seems all the blame was on Ed Ex alone. I don't know if my information is true, but I would love the insight of anyone involved with that whole mess last year. If Al-Hussan truly is desperate, this may be why. |

Frankly, the majority of contracting companies are desperate. |

Ive worked with Al - hussan my advice is to avoid them like a plague when it comes to sponsoring your family.
Istiqdaam process will take over 8 months I knew lots of teachers who were suffering.
a visit visa will be done quickly, and in no time but the problem is youl keep having to renew your wifes visa every month which is a pain and if you have children then its worse you can imagine.
If you dont have family and a spouse then Al-Hussan is the best company out there as it will look after all your needs.
I dont hate both companies, im just stating what the reality is on the battlefield. |

Oh yes, and as faar as sacking teachers....
Al hussan and ed ex couldnt really care less, theyl kick you out as soon as they hear youve been fired. Unless, you put an appeal in against the universities decision in which case they may just keep you if they are desperate again.
All the best brother |

Are you saying that you plan to accept a single status contract and then come with a family ? Housing costs ? Ticketing ? Health cover ? School costs ? |
