Does the Queen still send telegrams to people when they turn 100 or does she now send an email? |

The postmodern post ofice abolished telegrams some time ago. They introduced something called an "Overnight Telemessage" which is delivered with the post on the next working day.
Buck House still sends a message. If you know someone about to reach 100, drop a line to the
Private Secretary of Her Britannic Majesty

No, I meant capital "E" in E-mail. You know, "Elizabeth-mail". Must be getting subtle in my dotage. |

That sounds so much better than the cheesy Happy Birthdays that Good Morning America does for Americans when they hit the century mark. They flash a photo of them for all to see and sometimes they're not so flattering. Not sure if I'd want to be on TV at 100. |

I'd prefer the letter too. However, given that I must be nearly 50 years younger than Her Majesty, I would be impressed indeed if I got a letter from her on my 100th birthday. |

Do you think most 100 year olds are email users? |

I should think HRH (Gawd bless 'er and all wot sail in 'er) will be fairly busy given the number of centenarians around these days. I believe I passed a good number of them today on my way along the local bypass road... hogging the outside lane while maintaining a snail's pace, being "undertaken" on the inside, that sort of thing. |
