I must confess that when this was going on - a few km from KFUPM where I was working - I was nervous. I left immediately afterwards and had 6 months outside KSA.

I remember seeing the wrecked vehicles at the compound entrance while driving to work that morning. Also remember seeing CNN video. luckily I was living in Jadawel and working at the air base. |

At the time of the Oasis Massacre, KFUPM tightened up security by getting a pick-up with heavy-machine gun and crew posted just outside the area where most single Westerners lived. They might as wll have posted a sign "THE KAfIREEN ARE HERE. FIRE AT WILL !"" |
