Subj line says it all. If you used YASMIN birth control pill back home, what do you use here? I don't think YASMIN is available.
EDIT: Yasmin cleared for use in Korea. AMEN!

before i came to korea i asked my nurse.... well I know you can get diane 35 over the counter in korea... is it okay if I switch to that??
and then she said yes... so i did and no problems etc
i was on triquilar before...
she seemed to make it seem like any switch is okay.... but the fact that it seems like diane 35 is the only thing available... it seems as if it would fit everyone ( although how could that be right).
yeah diane 35 is good and now my skin has never been better |

actually diane 35 has a pretty high level of hormones and i have read horror stories about people dying from it...so i would be really careful with it. |

i know there are old threads about BC, but i'm so glad there's a new one!!
i used YASMIN in the states and brought extra over, but BC is a lot cheaper over here
Yasmin $40 vs Mercilon $5 (approx.)
those are the only ones i've ever been on. YASMIN was okay, but i think it made me weepy sometimes (i'm not that kind of person normally)
Mercilon is fine, but i'm still hoping i'll find one that makes my boobs bigger and the rest of me smaller. i've been on this for probably a year so far and i havent noticed any changes mentally or physically. |

Birth control pill without weight gain cleared
Schering Koreas oral contraceptive Yasmin was approved by the Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA) on June 28.
Yasmin which contains the innovative progestin drospirenone with ethinyl estradiol does not bring weight gain unlike existing oral contraceptives. Schering looks ready to take advantage of Yasmins favorable profile on weight
The indication Diane 35, Sherings another birth control pill, has been narrowed to acne treatment in women who desire an oral contraceptive since a public-interest watchdog organizations petition. Now Yasmin is expected help Shering shares grow in the oral contraceptive market.
Schering insists Yasmin improves acne as well as prevents pregnancy, planning to launch Yasmin earlier than October 1, originally scheduled. While the safety issues of Diane 35 are discussed again in the KFDA, Schering is looking for a turning point.
An officer from Schering said oral contraceptives containing drospirenone were launched in the U.S. and Europe in 2000, being the best-selling product in the category adding no weight gain is our selling point |
Since my OBGYN is America is OBGYNblocking me for some unknown reason, I am damn damn damn happy about this. Apparently it's going to be prescription only though. |
