Spliff. This is the second thread in so many days about the same subject.

Was it really necessary to start a new thread on it?

Are you completely incapable of using the search function Rolling Eyes

IN Korea or Thailand?

Assuming you do NOT want to pay a deposit and do NOT have a Korean credit card:

Go to your local LG phone store. Take your ARC, address (in Korean), passport and bankbook. You will also need your employers name, phone and address.

They will set you up in about an hour with a new phone and monthly account.

In Korea (Thailand is no-problem w/ phones) Thanks for the info I'll give it a wing this weekend. BTW, I have a Korean credit card. How exactly will that help my procuring a new cell?

I only needed my ARC and address in Korean. Well, as well as some cash.

How much cash...did you get the 1000/10,000 deal or pay hundreds for the phone outright?

I didnt get such a good deal. I paid 100,000W and that came with 20,000 worth of credit.

I was with KTF, which has some benefits on a pre-paid phone (called a "card phone" here) as you can call a number (I think it is 1500) and follow the menus to find out how much credit you have left.

I got a pretty good phone on promotion at the Show store in 신천. It was called Ever and it cost me 58900 won. plus they waived the 30000 activation fee. You just need a Korean credit card. The guy spoke ok English too. It's not a card phone either.. Very Happy

does it depend on where you go as to whether you need a korean credit card to get a phone?
