I know it'll have about as much effect as pissing in an ocean of piss, but anyone else sick to death of these dirty foreigner articles? Especially when they're as blatantly false as the recent one (I mean, the first sentence of the post made it clear that it came from a student).

I mean, maybe we can't boycott the paper itself, but maybe we can contact the foreigners who write for the paper, etc, to stop giving them articles, etc.

Yeah, isn't the Ilbo usually pretty good towards foreigners. I can't remember reading to many negative articles in regards to foreigners in it. Can you post a link to the article, I would love to read it. I checked the website, but can't find it.

I am boycotting Korea itself. Like I said before, things are not perfect back home and I don't particularly like it there either, but at least there I have a modicum of dignity. Is having to endure being a lower life form worth it to live in this Shangri La?

Above are the quotes from an Korean expat forum defiling Korean women.

(The Author) visited the site, and could find many articles describing K women as sex toys/objects. Some posters even post their experiences with K women from such places like Itaewon/Hongdae that are degrading and shameful. Also articles trashing Kimchi and Korean culture are posted.

These sites are frequented by foreign English teachers to exchange job/lliving information. Korean unis and hagwons use recruiting companies to hire their FTs or advertise on such sites.

Due to the above, some say FTs come into Korea with "prejudiced image".

Lee (female 27, Jong Ro P Hagwon) says that she felt uncomfortable when her FT coworker asked if all Korean women would sleep with her for English lessons. She also says the prejudice the FTs hold, especially against Korean women are very serious.

Many posts are also found looking for private tutor works, which are clearly illegal. E2 visas, given to native teachers from 7 countries, including US and Britain, only allow teaching at designated school/hagwon, but forbid private tutoring or teaching at various locations.

Lee (39, Citizens for Right English Education) says that Korean schools are advertising and recruiting from such sites where Korean women and Korean culture are defiled and illegal posts looking for privates are constantly posted. Many FTs think that they can illegally make money in Korea.

Lee says that in the past the servers for these sites were in Korea so maintenance was possible, but now it's impossible since the servers have moved to foreign lands.

That article sounds like Dave's ESL Cafe! What are you upset about anyway? The stuff amo_jh posted is mostly accurate. While it's not true of all of us, it's true for a lot of people here on Dave's and other Engrish teachers.

I tell you, this anti-foreigner B.S. is getting out of hand. Just the other day I was seducing this drunk under-aged married woman behind a 7/11 with pronoun tables, and the next thing I know a ruggedly handsome young man from KBS shows up with a news camera! Talk about rude!
