If you've been looking for spices, there's a place that has it all.
"AKAPURKO" is the answer.
Cumin Seeds, Cumin Powder, Tumeric, Curry, Ghee Butter, Lentils, Basmati Rice, Canned spinach, Mixed spices, Masala powder, and more!!!
Directions:
-Subway Line 2... to Gamsan Station. Exit #2.
-Once out of the exit, walk about 5-10 meters and take the first possible left.
-Take the next right and walk two blocks. The shop "AKAPURKO" is on the second block, on the left side.
They are only open after mid-day, and the owner can speak english. |

Thanks for the info on the spices. I had my Mom send me some from Canada to make my own Masala Chai but I have been wanting to cook some Indian food and did not have everything I needed for this. You are a gem for sharing this information and (just saved my Mom more postage)! |

Speaking of spices.....can anyone point me to a place in Daegu or Gumi that sells basil and thyme seeds? I really miss my pesto... |

In Gumi, you should try asking the owner of The Waegook Cook restaurant. I heard he grows a lot of his own ingredients. |

It isn't fresh, which of course is the best thing for pesto-but I bought dried basil at Emart in Seongseo Daegu,-it was located above the spaghetti and spaghetti sauce. Is there an Emart near you? Maybe the basil will be there too. |

No. I'm in a really small place. But I wouldnt use dried for pesto. Fresh only. I'm not spoiled in too many ways, but that is one.... |
