I know there has been a lot posted on here about recruiters- and I've browsed most of it- but I still have a question. Has anyone on here had a positive experience with Footprints Recruiting? I've read about people not getting a reply, but I seem to be doing okay in the process. I was "accepted" by Footprints and am now preparing my documents for the Seoul Ministry of Education, for a public middle school job. Everything seems fine, but I don't know if there's a chance in me not getting the job (because the SMOE isn't interested?).
So basically, has anyone ever worked with Footprints? Good experiences? Bad experiences (aside from just no reply)? How about the SMOE?
Thanks in advance! |

I am in the process of getting my second contract with footprints. Every recruiter is a different fit with different people. Footprints was great for me, and they helped me a lot along the way. I got my first job at a small hogwan with them and it was exactly what I was looking for. I recently just had an in-person interview with the SMOE for my second contract. Everything has been done in a timely fashion, since I leave today to go back to Canada. Basically, if they are working well with you so far, and you're confident in it, go for it. You will hear horror stories about every recruiter. Some will say a particular recruiter is great, while others will say they are terrible. On the plus side, if you're setting up with the SMOE, it is one of footprints biggest contracts, so they usually work pretty hard to keep everyone satisfied in that regard. Trust your gut, and best of luck! |

Footprints continues to send people to places like Mido in Kangnam, even though they know that it is heavily blacklisted. |

Mido School in Gangnam is not a Footprints client, nor have we ever placed a teacher there. |

You are a goddamn liar! You put me there, as well as others, after I complained. |

You have your wires crossed. I just checked our invoicing records since 2001, as well as our e-mail records and client database. I repeat- we have never placed a teacher at Mido School (AKA Ask International School) in Gangnam. |

I got a job through Footprints... No comments on the job right now (because they might not all be good and then Footprints would just pay to have this entire string deleted) and Ben knows exactly who I am -- Footprints has another one of those "special relationships" with Dave's that apparently allows him the privilege of getting access to all our true identities from our cyber ones -- but I dont care because I am sick of getting those stupid junk ads from Footprints in my email:
Hey! Your current contract is almost finished. We have new job openings in blah blah blah.....
Even after I email them to tell them THEY JUST FOUND ME MY LAST CONTRACT IN OCTOBER-- 2 months ago, so how could my current contract be almost finished???? I told them this but they keep sending those things anyway... I think their wires must somehow be crossed.
Ben, I know you are reading. Please stop sending me those ads before you have this string deleted.
Thanks. |

Footprints couldn't find me a job because I had no experience teaching. Give me a break!! From the threads that I have read on here, very few prospective teachers for Korea have ANY experience. I wondered at the time if it was because of my age... |

Footprints was great for me. I would recommend them to anyone. Most of the Footprints teachers I met in Korea last year felt the same way. |

I had heard good things about footprints so i applied to them. it took them weeks to get back to me. By then i had found a great job and signed a contract.
When they finally called me back I told them I already signed a contract, the recruiter said something like, oh you rushed things you probably got screwed, you desearve to get at least 2.2 million. Break the contract and we'll find you a great job. I declined and hung up.
then another recruiter from footprints called me a few days later and said their saw my resume and was sure they could get me 2.3 million. i said I had already signed a contract and i was making more than that and for the second time i was no longer interested.
The third recruiter called me the next day and tried to talk me out of my current contract, they asked me questions like,
what is the name of the school? none of your business.
How do you know the schoool is a good school? I know.
We could get you more money. Really how much? 2.3 or maybe even 2.4. Still not interested, i am making more than that now.
On and on and on, really pushy. I am glad they took a month to get back to me, they would have sold me to the lowest bidder.
Don't commit to any one recruiter, shop around. |

Wow. All of these recruiters were from Footprints? That's a pretty pathetic story. I have to agree that is very unprofessional... especially to even suggest that you break your contract. If I were to ever hear such a thing from Footprints or any other recruiter, I'd hang up on them too. |
