I WON! I'm free and I won more than 2.5 million wan.
Get this- after all of the BS and bluster, the cowards didn't even bother to show up.
I'll post more detailed info about this later- but just wanted to share some good news.
Oh, and I won't post the name of the school, because I don't want a bunch of KIDS to HERALD this school.

Nice...labor board worked for me to! My bosses didn't bother to show up either. Said they had a "field trip." Maybe it's because they were clearly in the wrong. This wouldn't happen to be the same place? It is the same chain but is it the Cheonan branch? |

It's nice to hear stories of when the Labour Board does work. |

All of this SHOULD have been settled weeks ago. They put me through HELL- for WHAT? I didn't even end up having to pay them for the flight to Korea- and I had OFFERED to do that, for the letter of release, a couple weeks ago. Makes no sense- and treating employees like crap so that they fly out OR have an opportunity to leave LEGALLY, makes no BUSINESS sense.
Location-What's the name of subway stop #316 on the Seoul orange line? |

I do have some advice to give, but give me some time to collect my thoughts. You DEFINITELY need at least one good friend, you can TRUST, who speaks Korean- I did. |

Do actually have the money in your hot little hand or just a promise you will get it?
I wouldn't be hanging out the flags until you have the money safely in your bank account.

It's the one up at Hwajeon Station in Ilsan, Goyang City, Gyeonngido.
The guy has a lot of guts and has been going through hell for a long time. I hope that he sues them for boatloads of won. |

my question, too.
as far as i know, the labor board has no enforcement power. but their rulings are used when you go to small claims court.
that is where the fun begins. |

Actually, in MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE (about 90 cases over a 3 year period), even though they can't "enforce" the order they can be very persuasive. Their option if the order is NOT carried out is to begin a criminal proceding against the hakwon owner and those typically carry fines that are generally substancially higher than the payment order and may also include jail time.
He just has to hang in there to see it to the end. |

They have been given seven days to pay, or else...

How does the 2.5M stack up against your losses and expenses? I thought payouts in this case were more. |

You're right. Maybe ttompatz could let us know how much Will could conceivably receive in total.
Christ, one has to hope that Will get's at least 10 million. |
