I'm curious if there are any places for me to get my iPhone fixed besides going to a regular authorized apple repair place. The top power button on my phone doesn't work the way it's supposed to and it's dificult for me to press it. The top of the button is flush with the backing if the phone instead of sticking out a little bit. The button works fine it's just annoying to me. I figure it's not something covered by the apple warranty. Any helpor advice would be helpful.[/b]

buttons pushed in would be covered by the apple warranty. The warranty does cover buttons. If the phone has any sort of physical damage it won't be covered (even if hte buttons weren't caused by the phone being dropped or something). Call apple support to see the repair options in your region. If you DIY and have any hardware issues down the road that are viable you'll be out of luck since you voide the warranty by replacing parts by yourself.

PEIGUY, why are you still lurking on these boards!?! You aren't back in Korea are you? Or, is there just nothing to occupy your time in PEI? These may sound like strange questions if you don't remember who I am based on my ESLcafe name.

I remember who you are Smile No, not back in Korea as of yet.. looking for a job.. meanwhile if you need help with your iPhone let me know.. as i said before if you get your wife to call Apple tech support for the region or get the carrier to give you Apple's # they'll give you the options available to fix your iPhone.

If it is from KT, then there are several KT A/S centers handling service for the iphone. Be aware that if it needs to be replaced it is a flat 290,000 won fee no matter the damage for a refurbished phone.

It shouldn't cost anything since it is less than two month old, and I pay extra money each month for the KT protection plan in case there is a problem.

To those of you who have iPhones in Korea, GET THE KT PROTECTION PLAN! It's only like an extra 2-4,000 won every month but it is worth it. As you can see, I had to get my phone replaced because of a faulty power button. Because I had the protection plan, replacing the phone only cost me 50,000won instead of nearly 300,000won. It would have been free except that when I was installing my invisible shield I must have gotten a drop of the spray near the docking port and it looked like I had gotten the phone wet. so, to all of you who install an invisible shield or something similar, cover your docking port before you do it!

Wrong.

If you have "Show Phone Care" with KT it depends on the model of your iPhone.

16GB - 50k
32GB - 80k

You will have to pay 290k up front but you will be refunded your money minus the cost of replacing the phone.

He gave me his business card so I think it's safe to post here:

*Edit : I removed his phone number at his request due to spam messages. Sorry about that. Please use his e-mail address.

My bad, sorry.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the info. Now I actually understand what the extra (in my case 4000W) is paying for. The shop never really mentioned it when I got my phone.
