So my GF and I just had a catosptrophic condom failure and we're now freaking out. We need to get some emergency contraceptive just to be sure since we're not at the stage in our relationship where we need a baby.

1. Will pharmacies sell it?
2. Will we need to see a Dr. to get it prescribed?
3. If "Yes" to #1 and #2 can we just slip the clerk a $20 to get it? (she's really not crazy about the idea of seeing a Dr. )

Thanks for any help you might be able to give.

You don't need a perscription or anything (unless they changed the rules in the last couple of years). You can just go to any pharmacist and get it. I think it goes better if you can do it in a foreigner-heavy place like Itaewon. They will know exactly what you want.

Or if you go to a small neighborhood clinic and pay 3,000 Won or so to see a doctor, she/he can give it to you.

Hi, I'm not sure if you still need it but I've got a couple extra boxes of the morning after pill which I'll let go for 30,000 won each. Please let me know by email [email protected] if you're interested. I live in Gangnam, Seoul area.

Ok, so it sounds pretty easy to get them.

Does anyone know a good brand or have a link to a brand on the net so I know what to look for? Anyone know how to say "Morning after pill" in Korean?

Thanks.

p.s. tigerbluekitty, message sent.

I know this is too late for you, but for future reference...

The Morning-After Pill that's available here is called Norlevo.

Or you can take either the Minivlar or Sexcon birth control pills in a multiple-pill dosage schedule, which will have the same effect. For instructions see http://ec.princeton.edu/info/ecp.html

Not sure which method is easier to find or less expensive. IMO, it's a good idea for many women to have a pack of pills on reserve for this purpose.

You can try to convince a pharmacist to let you have it, but i was told that they had changed the law and you had to go to a Doctor to get it. Try a pharmacy in Itaewon perhaps, they seem more lax than other places. Good Luck.
