I need a loving home for Pricky, my pet porcupine. PM if you can give this great guy (maybe girl, I dunno, hard to check) a decent loving home. He only occassionally shoots his needles at people nearby.

How's he with young kids?
Do his quills grow back? (I ask because my aunt does Aboriginal quill art and a replenishing supply would be a lot better than collecting from roadkill.)
Interesting fact - My aunt says that in traditional aboriginal cultures, porcupines are not to be hunted, because they are so easy to catch. They are left to be used only in case of emergency. That said, they are apparently very delicious. |

I hunted loads of porcupines in my life. It is possible to keep them around on farms as semi tame pets. They do however carry loads of ticks and all kinds of other critters around with them. They actually DO NOT shoot out the quils. It backs up into the predator trying to kill it and the quils that penetrate the attacking animal is left behind. |
