Hi Everyone,

I just got offered a contract from this outfit.

I can't find any info about them on the web so I am wondering if they are the same Jeju International Village crowd that are notorious crooks?

The contract looks good but it is in Mok Dong rather than Jeju. I don't understand where the 'Jeju' part comes from.

It's too late (9pm) to ask the girl I am dealing with any questions and I am assuming she won't be there for the weekend. The contract looks great so I'm dying to know if everything's above board.

Any ideas/info?

Thanks.

If this is the village I'm thinking of, they're not accredited to have foreign teachers there. Because of this, they have teachers sign a contract with a school in Seoul (their parent company or something) and then ship them off to Jeju to work. This is very illegal and they have been caught and fined for this before. Last year, I knew two people who were caught in this and they had a month of headaches with immigration over the whole issue. Immi was cool with them for the most part b/c they were just trapped in the mess, but it wasn't fun for them.

Ahuh!

The girl told me she had two positions - one in Changdong and one in Mokdong. Alarm bells started ringing when she told me that she didn't know the name of the school in Mokdong.

If you are working for an organization trying to place teachers in schools, how do you not know the name of the very school you are trying to place them into?

Dodgy!

Thanks for the warning.

She won't tell you the name of the hogwan because it is blacklisted.
