went to the place above burger king in itaewon hell today, and it was so worth it. 10,000 for eyebrows, 50,000 for full brazilian. 2 estheticians at once, gotta love it, it goes so much faster. it looks good and feels good, no painful rash or bumps...
well worth the trip into hell.

the post was in response to a waxing recommendation that was rescinded recently, as well as this place being recommended. us ladies gotta keep in the know about good places to get stuff done, ya know?

I recently went to a place behind Hamilton Hotel. It's on the ground floor, and it's got a big sign with lots of graphics, and a small, difficult name which I can't remember.
The price for a Brazillian was standard (w50,000.) The wax was quick, but uncomfortably hot. If I showed any pain, the esthetician blew on it to cool it down, but given the area she was working on, it was pretty inappropriate. I would have been more comfortable if she had been wearing gloves, or if I'd had some kind of disposable knickers, but what are you going to do? Beats the mess and bother of doing it at home. |

Amazingly, I have been doing it for myself, by myself since the start of the year! It's actually not that messy or bothersome, nor is it as painful as you would think it would be doing it on yourself.. ! |

I started out that way, and it's not that painful, but whether I use hot or cold wax, I usually end up getting it all over the place. Plus, it's just a little awkward to get the right angle (or maybe I'm not flexible enough.) |

the blowing? the rub down given by two girls at once at the one over burger king is rather odd as well...i like the massages given with the wash at hair salons, but i cant say the same for waxing... |

yeah, the wax was a little too hot at times, but at least they blew on the wax first, and not me. one might have to pay extra for that!
i can't imagine doing it at home, i know i would end up glued together or something.... i would never do my eyebrows either, i would have to draw them on after! i'm terrible at plucking, i can't imagine doing better with wax...

The one behind the Hamilton with all the pictures, is that the Green Turtle Salon? I've gone there many times, they've always given me disposable knickers and blown on the wax before applying it. Strange that you didn't have that service. I'm pretty sure it was the same place. |
