I tend to burst their bubble politely and will even go along with a few unimportant lies if it means saving face and preserving their dignity.
I mean for example, I have several adult students who insist that Seoul is in the same time zone as Japan. "So why do I have to alter my watch by an hour every time I fly to Osaka? i ask. They look really awkward, so I just agree. Yes, yes..you're probably right, ok. Then change the subject.
A 30-something yr old Korean woman the other day told me proudly Korea has 4 distinct seasons!
And so does most of Europe`, I said quietly. I really hated to say this because she was so nice. You could see the quizzical glimmer of shock.
After pressing me for confirmation, she was even more amazed to discover later that its called "the temperate zone"- ie a vast swathe of the earths geographical area experiences 4 distinct seasons! awesome. Oh dear, I guess that was overkill..oops. |

Let it go dogbert..let it go!
Anyhow..I later agreed that korea has the reddest leaves in autumn of any country on earth. She soon recovered. |

is there such a thing as a "restraining order" for internet message boards?
I mean if every time you post, the same idiot pops up trying to get revenge for a loss of face incident a long time ago?
Should i just agree with whatever he says and let him have his dignity back? or should that be his mummys job, to comfort and console him?

Japan and Korea are in the same timezone, however Japan observes daylight savings, but Korea doesnt.
This means that for some of the year it is the same time in Seoul and Tokyo and when Japan is in daylight savings, Tokyo is one hour ahead....
<edit> WRONG!!! Japan doesnt observe daylight savings anymore!!!</edit>

On many sites using this software you can turn on the ignore function, but it seems not to have been implemented by the admin here.

Ya, I read some posts on here by people who actually believe in the Biblical Genesis. I tried not to laugh and even nodded my head. |

I tend to stomp their faces.....but on those rare occasions...I apply a little eye-shadow and lip-gloss to them.... |

Lying is considered a sin in many religions. Conversly, saving face is considered essential in many religions.

They didn't call you an idiot because that would make you lose face. |
