Questions 1: aren't there a lot more white women than white men in local news (backhome local). For my home, this is definitely true
Questions 2: why is this guy such an idiot? he could have made some interesting points without attacking white people. |

The situation is as bad or even worse in national broadcasting. There, one rarely sees Asian males reporting the news. However, it seems inevitable the major national stations will have the young, good-looking Asian woman reporter who sounds and acts as if she were white.

Acting and sounding white? This is the same ridiculous idea that keeps black kids down. How is an Asian woman supposed to read the news?

But at the same time while we see more of the Asian woman/white man as opposed to the Asian man/white woman, doesn't this also reflect society at large? |
Yes, but an Asian man may argue that this is a result of the media stereotyping Asian men as asexual nerds while portryaing Asian women as exotic. Basically a 'chicken or the egg' kind of arguement |

I'm surprised that a separate thread wasn't started about the result of the most recent Survivor TV series (since it was shown on AFN...) They tried a new format of dividing teams along ethnic and racial lines, and two of the three finalists were Korean-Americans. The girl, Becky Lee, was very nice and attractive, but she was no match for the winner, Yul Kwon, who was both personable and an excellent strategist.
He said that he hoped to change media stereotyping of men of Asian descent as computer geeks or kung fu guys who couldn't speak English. He's a graduate of Stanford University and Yale Law School, and he also gotted tabbed a "sexy man in sexy surroundings" in last month's People Magazine. Here are a few different accounts of and takes on the last Survivor episode:
