|
|
Is it possible to withdraw cash from most ATMs in Korea? I just visited Wooribank to withdraw 100,000 won and I got a check (their spelling, I prefer cheque) instead of cash. Is this because the machine was out of cash or is it the wrong sort of machine or did I choose the wrong menu options? I did all this in English so mabye that was the problem, no cash for foreigners. |

Normally you get cash when you hit 'Withdrawal'. I'll bet you hit something else by mistake.
You shouldn't have any trouble using the check though. Go buy something at a grocery store and get it cashed. |

Didn't they give you a choice of cash or checks?
It is very possible that the machine has run out of cash.
They do give cash for foreigners.. |

There was only one option for withdrawal. I'll try again later. I did cash the check at Lotte Mart but she wanted a cell phone number and I don't have one which caused much confusion and strange looks from the other shoppers.
There was no option so that particular machine must have been out of cash.
Thanks for the advice anyway.
BTW unrelated question: Are the shops open tomorrow? |

Yes, most shops will be open tomorrow, just like Christmas. |
